Promoting Christian Education Internationally
Christian educators around the world urgently are seeking assistance in knowing how to teach Christianly. The Lord has blessed educators in some countries with kingdom insights in this area which can transform education and lives as Christians seek to engage the culture and bring the shalom of the gospel to a lost and needy world.
From its Australian and Korean bases, Edserv International seeks to provide reformational Christian education and teacher training services to Christian communities and individuals wherever it is needed irrespective of political boundaries or the recipients’ ability to pay.
Why is Education so strategic?
Schooling is always religiously committed and it shapes children’s hopes and opportunities in the light of those religious commitments. Christians must be in the forefront of providing an education that seeks wisdom not based upon the bankrupt promises of illusory hopes such as communism or economic rationalism, but based upon the sure and certain hope of a celebration of the lordship of Christ over all of creation. Emanating from a Christian worldview, this type of education is the exclusive foundation for faithful living and seeking the welfare of the city in which we live.
Life Changing Experience
One Christian leader in a developing country, in seeking Edserv’s assistance, commented that it is not enough to have Christians teaching. What is needed is to have Christians who teach Christianly – that is, who have been equipped to ground all of their pedagogy in a biblically faithful understanding of God, His world, and the privileged place of humanity in that world as God’s image bearers under the Lordship of Jesus Christ. It is as a response to profound perspectives and challenges such as this that Edserv International exists and seeks to carry out its mission.
